Saturday night, the Hershey Bears Wives and Girlfriends had another one of their fundraisers for a very worthy cause. In a continuation of a fundraiser started in 2005, the wives auctioned off custom made holiday ornaments made by the players, with all the proceeds going to the Hershey Medical Center Children’s Hospital.
The Bears all did an individual ball that was auctioned off. Along with those, there was also a team autographed wreath, mini Christmas tree, and “Happy Holidays” team photo auctioned off.
“[Their creativity] was awesome,” said Sharlene Kane, wife of captain Boyd. “They are always really good. They really impress us actually.”
The team autographed ornaments are always a hit as well. “The guys all sit and sign 117. It’s tedious and we really appreciate it.”
