Bon Voyage, Matt and Danny. Photos by Kyle Mace.
It was announced this afternoon that the Caps made a set of trades. Matt Ford was sent to Philadelphia in exchange for 22-year-old defenseman Kevin Marshall of the Adirondack Phantoms. Marshall recorded two goals and three assists in 32 games with the Phantoms. He also played ten games this season with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Additionally, Danny Richmond was also traded away for center Mike Carman of the Lake Erie Monsters. The 23-year-old has earned three goals and three assists in 28 games with the Monsters. Losing Ford and Richmond has helped Hershey handle the veteran situation and get some young guys in the line-up.
Always classy, Matt Ford had this to say:
I’ll miss Hershey, your a first class organization, you got fun fans, and a great group of guys in the Lockerroom….

Meanwhile, Ryan Potulny spoke with Carman, his old teammate at University of Minnesota:
Talked to carman he seems pretty excited to be a Hershey Bear

Best of luck to Ford and Richmond! The new guys are expected to play tomorrow night against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. What do you guys think of the trades?
